Residential Services

CPARC’s RESIDENTIAL SERVICES provides a variety of community living opportunities for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Residential Services operates in several communities in Cumberland, Dauphin & Perry Counties. Staff work with individuals to help them obtain productive, fulfilled lives in their communities.

A plan of service for each individual is developed annually by the individual and his/her team. The staff encourage each person to learn and develop independent skills and realize their potential. The services staff provide vary from person to person and may include: assistance with meal preparation, medication management, budgeting skills, personal hygiene, etc.
Residential Services
CPARC’s Residential Services continuum includes:
Group Homes:
Individuals live together in a family setting with staff supervision up to 24 hours a day. Staff teach daily living skills to individuals to help them become more independent. Activities include: meal preparation, laundry, shopping, cleaning, etc. A group home may also be the ideal setting for an older adult with developmental disabilities who is no longer able to live a fully independent life.

Apartment Clusters:
CPARC manages apartment buildings for adults with developmental disabilities. Staff are present in these buildings, providing daily support and assistance in life skills areas as necessary.
Apartment Living:
CPARC staff provide minimal support as needed to individuals who live in their own apartments in the community. These individuals have demonstrated the necessary skills to live independently with limited support from staff.
Residential Services
Life Sharing Program:
CPARC provides support to individuals placed with host families in the community. CPARC assists in matching both children and adults with developmental disabilities with families who provide them with a positive family/life experience. CPARC provides training and support to both the host family and the individual receiving the service.
Supported/Community Living Programs:
Individuals participating in the supported or community living programs are able to remain in their current residence (private home, nursing home, etc.). The staff provide support and services as necessary, to ensure continued independence and to allow individuals to enjoy life in their community.
