The Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties is affiliated with The Arc, The Arc of PA and other local chapters throughout the Commonwealth.

The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties (CPARC) remains a volunteer, member-based organization. Members are encouraged to contribute, serve, and provide CPARC with the support necessary to influence issues affecting individuals with mental retardation at local, state and national levels under the auspices of The Arc.

Consider In-Kind Donations! While CPARC depends mainly on monetary donations, there are times when CPARC is in need of In-Kind Donations. Things such as a new vacuum for a group home, new sheets and bedding for a consumer in a new apartment, or a new TV for training at the executive offices are needed throughout the organization.

Chris was having difficulty functioning successfully in the classroom and was refusing to attend school before CPARC’s Advocates began working with him. With CPARC’s help, Chris successfully fulfilled his IEP requirements and is now a high school graduate.

Our Special Education Advocate helped redirect Chris’ team to focus on his specific needs and a new educational plan was developed. Chris began working full-time, and he completed his academic school work independently, while meeting with his teacher a few times a week.

To assure confidentiality to our clients, names have been changed.
